Forum EuroDisney trip

Postby Jetlag » Wed May 26, 2010 11:06 am

Depending on dates, etc, I'm thinking of planning a EuroDisney forum bash for 2011.

The idea would be to stay in the Davey Crockett Ranch 2 star cabins. These have full kitchens, are a 15 minute drive from the park (no shuttle), include free entry to the park and breakfast (quite a good one, by the sound of it: tea, coffee, milk, croissant, brioche, baguette, meat and cheese, which some people will keep and take in to the park for a free lunch). Also, you're allowed entry to the park 2 hours early (though not all of the rides are open).

The cabins sleep up to 6 people, thus making it a bit cheaper. Full price (though it's poss to get discounts) for 6 adults sharing a cabin for 2 nights is £1068 for this time of year. That's £178 per person (not sure if that's one day entry to the park, or 2). 2 people in a cabin (with no discount) is £558 for 2 nights.

This is accomm only. You'd all have to get yourselves there.

So, please vote, just to give me an idea if this is a goer or not.

What sort of age group are we looking at here? If it's for the kids then fair enough, but for adults, Park Asterix is not that far away and is much better. I used to live near there with PGL and took groups of kids to both.

All ages. The idea is that people will bring their kids. That would leave enough adults to mind the little ones while parents went on rollercoasters, etc.

A friend here says that a 2 day stay will include a 3 day park hopper ticket. Not sure how much that is but a 2 day park hopper costs £112, so that's looking like good value for money.

Sorry, not a theme park fan.

I may or may not have to revise this view when Rob gets home :)

I hate theme parks  The only reason I'm contemplating this is that my wife and waines love them, and having forumites around for giggles might just make it bearable for me

Ok, I'm let off the hook- almost... - we've been to Euro Disney already, even though it was just one day, and if we do Disney again, apparently it HAS to be the Florida one

Mind you, given the cost of that, it does ut it off for a good few years  :xbeer: :xbeer:

ps: it's Disneyland Paris nowadays, not EuroDisney. It changed about ten years ago  Possibly even longer.

After a conversation at the weekend I reckon we should start saving up now for a forum Universal Studios Halloween trip
In Oct I'm cycling 66 miles through NYC for the MS Society. I was diagnosed with MS in 2003 so it's for a cause close to my heart. Please sponsor me, even a couple of quid is great. Thanks!

Are you talking about the Harry POtter thing?

I heard a news report about it this morning and an American girl said, without a trace or irony, that is was "Like, amazingly awesome"

OM good christ yes.

I'd blow Disneyland Paris out in a f*** heartbeat to do that again. Oct 2011 to have the absolute shits put up you, anyone?

It looks like they even do it in the Hollywood one now, too.

Note, when it says "this experience may be too intense for young children", they are not kidding.

I remember going to the dungeons about 25 years ago, way before the Tussauds group got hold of it. Just seemed to be a lot of disembowled manequins and some dry ice. My brother threw up in the corner of the gift shop as he was so unnerved by it all
