I thought the penalty was a bit harsh.
He did it at 5AM so there was very little chance of anyone actually seeing him.

It's quite impressive to get a criminal record for having a jodrell on a trampoline though – and I assume it requires some skill too.

I'm tempted to say that's harsh: middle of the night, your own backyard (a man's backyard is his castle, etc), if you can't have a smoke and tug there, where can you?

but then i think - what? really? you're on a trampoline, naked, at 5am, naked, smoking, having a w**k, naked, you're 55 years old, naked. Yeah, you kinda gotta take whatever comes, you know. I doubt even ACLU would be interested.
