Old Skool Shakey's Head London Meet - Thu 26th August

Postby littlejames » Wed Jul 28, 2010 2:15 pm

Thursday 26th August from 6pm.
I'll try and arrive early to bag a table.
Who's in???

Here's a link to googlemaps

Bring your water pistols & sunglasses if you still have them.

Everyone's welcome, I'd love to see all the old faces. Newbies will be welcomed warmly, don't be scared, we were all newbies once.

:xbeer: :xbeer: :xbeer: :xbeer: :xbeer: :xbeer: :xbeer: :xbeer: :xbeer: :xbeer:

Anyone interested in an old skool forum piss up at Shakey's????

Shakey's is the first time I came out and met all you guys. I remember looking out for all the helipacks and snowboard jackets. Oh the times we had...
Who was it that stole a fire extinguisher from the front doorway?

Perhaps we should do a Thursday Night Curry fun.

In Oct I'm cycling 66 miles through NYC for the MS Society. I was diagnosed with MS in 2003 so it's for a cause close to my heart. Please sponsor me, even a couple of quid is great. Thanks!

Ahh, memories. April 2003. :)

The first ever participants in the London drinks was myself and Mr. Splodge, then it escalated from there!
At this point we decided to call it a day, and move onto something safer... like the over the blind crest third gear one leg off stand-up wheelie competition.

I think the fire extinguisher was either the Rev or Marky...

Ah Shakey's :)
Sometimes yes, other times - not so much.

Total win! That is where I started getting into the bad habit of ordering a bottle of cheapo white wine and a pint glass...

I remember getting the train in all the way from Slough, wondering what the hell I'm doing meeting up with internet people, thinking that at the very worst, i'll have a pint and go home again.

But keep me posted, and i'll have a beer at the same time. I might even go and sit in the lobby of some pikey hotel so i feel like I'm there at the shakey :)

If you could make sure someone in your group gets their phone nicked too, that'd be lovely. ;)

why does that conjure up images of WWII trains and music from the Great Escape?

must be a function of tom_g's eloquence slagging the place off over the years  :xbeer: :xbeer:

Do some escalator surfing on your way home as well for that really authentic feel :)

I should be able to drop by for a quick one as my office (if not out at client sites) is round the corner in Lincolns Inn Fields.
