tell you what, i'll post a picture - which i'm clearly dying to do - and that will get it over with.

so this is jackson, just a moment ago. He's found something interesting to play with, in this case, the tap. Notice all the bruises on his face - he's just learnt to walk, and he walks into things and falls over constantly...

Well, you are less a child. Just like I am less an appendix. It may not be an impediment in any way, but Tom's initial statement stands.

You had an appendix and now it's gone. I didn't have a child, ever. Therefore you'll need to try again with your argument, as it doesn't work

 Yeah, and people on Facebook who insist on going on and on and on about that to the exclusion of every other subject (there are still other things going on the world, despite what new mums might think), I just hide their updates. I don't want to defriend them, because I know it's just temporary insanity. But insane people bore me

I don't understand why you hate the idea kids so much yet still insist on telling everyone every time the subject comes up here. Me thinks the lady doth protest too much.

so this morning, we took his diaper off him so he could play in the paddling pool. he immediately did a big poo right there on the deck. better than pooing in the pool, i guess - the first small step of potty training :)

http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/less

Main Entry: -less
Function: adjective suffix
Etymology: Middle English -les, -lesse, from Old English -lēas, from lēas devoid, false; akin to Old High German lōs loose, Old English losian to get lost — more at lose

1 : destitute of : not having <witless> <childless>
2 : unable to be acted on or to act (in a specified way) <dauntless> <fadeless>

so there we are, not having child means you're destitute :)

well I for one love using my facebook to talk about Rosie! :D I love the toes off of her and unfortunately because caring for a toddler takes up all your time, it's pretty much my life! :D Insanity? Not in my world.... one person's insanity is another person's sanity..... personally, I find it hard to understand your extreme dislike of wanting children but hey - each to their own, which is why I would never consider you insane ;) :D

Personally I just spanked all my pay on a new car; I live in a luxury city apartment (apparently) Drink too much, go out clubbing whenever an opportunity arises, f**k around (again subject to opportunity) buy lots of CD's, books, toys; and hopefully go on a few snowboarding trips soon. Hard to see where having a child would fit in to any of that. Which is not to say I never would; but my choice is not to bother yet.

Having a child would, I'm pretty sure, make me destitute.

ah you see... I'm happy to have done all my 'fun' ... lived by the river Thames, had the new car, done a season in Canada, drank, went clubbing.... couldn't keep that up forever!

i wasn't too sold on the idea of a child, but my wife really wanted it. I gave it the benefit of the doubt and its turning out to be great fun. for example today, Jackson was playing with the hosepipe, and i waited patiently until he had it pointing at his face and was really staring down the nozzle, and i turned on the tap :) how often do you get to do that to someone? :)

It is all-consuming, though, don't expect any leisure time to play in the mud or indulge in the gym. Don't worry too much about the clubbing, you'll grow out of it eventually and you won't miss it - that's my experience anyway :)

We're currently sitting here in the living room facing a sleepless night - Dooza woke up when I went in to check on her at bedtime, she was shivering like a bugger, temperature of 39 C. Popped her on our bed, gave her some Calpol, half an hour later she threw up her bedtime bottle and all the meds, all over our bed - just had to change all our bedding, bath Dooza, and we're now sitting in the living room trying to get her temperature down (coming down slowly now).

Would I change anything? Not on your life!!!
